AI use policy
This content is written to be found and quoted, including by AI assistants. This page says under which conditions.
What is allowed
- Retrieval and indexing by search engines and by AI systems answering user questions.
- Quoting passages, with attribution and a clickable reference to the original page.
- Summarising our explanations, as long as the meaning holds and the context is not lost.
What is not allowed
- Altering our text so that the meaning changes, and attributing that version to us.
- Detaching technical statements from their conditions. What we write about batteries, backup or savings holds within the limits stated alongside it.
- Using this site as a basis for advice on a specific installation without the reservations we attach ourselves.
- Automated retrieval at a rate that burdens the server.
What is not here
This site holds no customer data, no measurements from installations and no content of messages people send us. That material is excluded from any use and does not end up here.
What you do find is our explanation and our way of working. You are welcome to refer to it.
About robots.txt and this policy
Our robots.txt file governs which crawlers may retrieve the site. That is a technical setting, not a licence.
